The next, torrential rain pounds against the Electra's windshield. Amelia hand-flies through turbulent air while Fred quietly adjusts headings around developing storms. Neither shows outward concern. Weeks of flying together have forged an unspoken rhythm between them.

Sittwe finally appears beside the coast as rain showers drift inland. Local mechanics quickly move the aircraft beneath cover while tropical rain drums against the hangar roof. One mechanic runs his hand across the polished aluminum fuselage and smiles. "She's carried you a very long way." Amelia nods. "And she's not finished yet."
