Briefing

This relatively short hop (about 63nm) could be treacherous at both the point of departure AND arrival. Taking off from the 1,200-foot runway at Mokil may be challenging depending on your aircraft of choice. But landing on the short 1,100-foot runway at Pingelap could be moreso. The length of the runway may be marginally shorter, but if you’re landing on Runway 05, you need to be mindful of the water surrounding the last half of the runway. Don’t go skidding off of it or you’ll find yourself swimming with the fishes!
