📖 Abandoned at the Gate O'Hare feels completely different.

United aircraft taxi everywhere.

American jets depart.

Airliners from across the world arrive.

The airport never stopped.

Only Spirit did.

And among all that activity sits a yellow Airbus that suddenly has nowhere to go.

Contemporary observers spotted Spirit aircraft remaining at O'Hare after the shutdown, and Nomadic movements subsequently began taking aircraft from Chicago toward Marana.

The contrast is almost cruel.

Thousands of passengers walk through the terminal.

Departure boards remain full.

Jet bridges continue moving.

But the Spirit gates are quiet.

Your crew arrives with paperwork instead of passengers.

The aircraft is inspected.

Authorization confirmed.

Eventually, the jet bridge pulls away for the last time.

You start the engines.

The airplane is leaving Chicago.

But it isn't carrying anyone.
