📖 Lost Cities of the Rainforest

For decades, many believed the Amazon had never supported large populations. Recent discoveries have changed that understanding completely. Archaeologists now know that sophisticated societies once built roads, settlements, and agricultural systems throughout parts of the rainforest. During the flight to São Gabriel da Cachoeira, researchers review satellite imagery showing unusual geometric patterns hidden beneath dense vegetation. Some may be ancient earthworks. Others may be forgotten settlements reclaimed by nature centuries ago. The deeper the team travels into the jungle, the more they realize how much remains undiscovered.
