These airports are all hand-crafted in World Update 13 and are worth checking out. Of the fourteen (!) bespoke airports included in WU13, we thought that these four are probably best left by themselves rather than connected together so that pilots could have a bit more freedom to explore them as they wish.
One of the airports you will be visiting is Adi Soemarmo Airport, located just northwest of Surakarta, Indonesia, which is itself located in central Indonesia. It is near two active volcanoes (Mount Merbabu and Mount Merapi), which you may fly over or near if coming from the west.
Another airport you will visit is Gizo/Nusatupe Airport which serves the Solomon Islands. Uniquely situated on its island, the 2,871-foot runway takes up most of the small island’s land area. Having arrived, passengers must take a boat to actually get to Gizo, or any of the other small islands in the area.
A third airport you will visit is Kona International in Kona, Hawai’i. Kona is located on the western shores of the island of Hawai’i, colloquially known as the Big Island. Nearby volcano Mauna Loa recently erupted for about 12 days, its first eruption since 1984. Be careful should you wish to inspect it!
And finally, you will visit the most remote airport in the world, Mataveri Airport. Located on Easter Island in the South Pacific Ocean, Mataveri Airport is considered to be the most remote airport in the world due to the nearest commercial airport being over 2,000nm away in Santiago, Chile! You will not be required to make such a long journey, but you’re more than welcome to do so if you wish!
Note: This achievement was created in celebration of the Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update XIII - Oceania release, but you may complete the flights in any simulator of your choice!
In order to obtain this multi-achievement you must complete each of the following achievements.
