The expedition's next destination brings them into contact with conservation teams working to protect migration routes used by jaguars, tapirs, macaws, and countless other species. Wildlife tracking stations hidden deep within the forest collect information around the clock. The data helps scientists understand how animals move through the Amazon and which habitats are most critical to their survival. During the flight, a wildlife biologist shares photographs captured by remote cameras. Many of the animals have never seen a human. Yet their future remains closely tied to decisions made far beyond the jungle.
