| Remarks: | Flight 16 of the UK coastal tour - time for a little Manx adventure. Thankfully today the wider London control zone was online. Sadly the airport at Barrow itself was outside of top down coverage but when airborne I had a good chance to practice my VFR telephony skills. I think I did alright but the controller didn't give me a squawk code - maybe I should have queried - but I carried on with 7000 and a basic service. Popping over to the Isle of Man we bimbled around the coast and then over the hills spying on the naughty motorists making the most of the limitless country roads imagining they where in the TT. The weather was rather lovely but with work in the afternoon looming I didn't have too much time so had to put her down. I'm not too sure where the GA goes at Ronaldsway so ended up parking where the big boys go - hope they don't mind! Despite the somewhat massive runway I managed a rather firm landing for the cessna - almost spilt my coffee - shocking! |
