Remarks: | Flight 15 of the UK coastal tour - again sadly no ATC online for this flight. I was hoping there would be as the Liverpool GA appron is outside of ATC control so you have to make your initial contact at hold point Kilo but alas - no such luck. I took off in unicom and followed the VFR lane to the north. Vacating the lane I bimbled up the coast towards Morecambe Bay. Sadly clouds where looming over the Lake District and the coast of Morecambe Bay (so much for the glorious sunshine of March) so I had to scoot across the sea to pick up Barrow before the weather closed in. I followed the ILS approach to runway 35 (although not using autopilot). The Navy chaps down at Barrow eyed me with suspicion in case I was some spying scum trying to peek at the nuclear submarines but they need not worry. The landing was buttery smooth and I taxied and parked without incident. Thanks to work commitments and slight naff weather that was all for today. |
