Remarks: | Flight 13 of the UK coastal tour - the unlucky one? Hopefully not... after a two week hiatus thanks to strong winds and shoddy VFR conditions - and then a weeks holiday in Ireland - I finally managed to resume to round the UK trip. This was a bit of a scary one as ALL OF THE ATC was online. I called up the London controller although the signal was so poor at Caernarfon we both agreed by text that I could bimble at my leisure with conspicuity (I hate that word). I departed to the west in glorious sunshine and flew around the Llyn peninsula - then to Porthmadog and into Snowdonia National Park. I flew over an old family farm and then looped back east to Betws-y-Coed (god knows I spelt that right) - then turned north to Anglesey. Following the Anglesey coast I did a touch and go at RAF Valley then plonked her back down for coffee back at Caernarfon... phew. A long flight and a fair few mountains that I could potentially smash into but thankfully nout the sort happened. |
