Air Manchester was a charter airline based in Manchester, England that started operations in April 1982. They leased a BAC 1-11 Series 416EK aircraft "G-SURE" which was delivered in May 1982.
A second BAC 1-11 Series 416 [G-BMAN] was leased and painted in Air Manchester livery but not delivered. A third BAC 1-11 Series 320L AZ was also painted in Air Manchester livery but was not accepted because of financial difficulties. BAC 1-11 G-SURE was used for charter operations from Manchester EGCC and Liverpool EGGP to holiday destinations such as Alicante, Barcelona, Ibiza, Malaga, Palma Mallorca and Shannon. Shannon EINN was used for crew training.
Air Manchester operations ceased in November 1982 and G-SURE was sold to British Air Ferries.
