Based in Miami and operating out of both Miami International and Fort Lauderdale International with a fleet of Airbus single-aisle aircraft, Global Crossing Airlines is a Part 121 charter and supplemental carrier. For VA purposes, a basic route network of 44 flights has been built in the Caribbean and Latin America. Real GlobalX services between Miami and Havana are replicated here.
Where this VA really shines is with the greater Miami area's trio of FBS college football teams. This VA handles away game team transit flights, with Miami and FIU using Miami International, and FAU using Fort Lauderdale. For Saturday games, outbound segments will publish and be valid from c.1am UTC on Thursdays, with the return being published 90 within 90 minutes after the particular game ends on Saturday. Return flights availability would end at c. noon UTC on Tuesday, allowing the pilot to fly back to base while enjoying Sunday or Monday Night Football. Flying the outbound leg during the Friday night Fox TV college game is similarly enabled, and this could be a great basis for group flights, if the VA grows to that point. FIU and FAU both have weeknight games; flights will be day before and day after. With additional growth and pilot interest, doing the away game thing for the NFL Miami Dolphins (and possibly the other Florida teams as well) would likely be brought aboard as an additional feature. There would also be the option of letting pilots simulate the away game flights of their college team of choice, perhaps even building that into assignments, should there be sufficient justification to use the feature.
To keep things interesting when it is not football season, an around the world tour will become a set of seasonal flights from February to June. The plan is to go eastbound for 2025, westbound for 2026. Got a favorite touring musical artist? Summer tours would be something to do here. The aim is to have dynamic seasonal flexibility with additional city pairs, making for a VA that stays fresh and engaging. Growth will bring the goodies like Discord, and the need for additional staff. It's time to fly.
This virtual airline is a division of Red Mountain Airlines Group.
