The Great Giza Pyramid Complex

Our flight departs Alexandria Intl. Our first site is the Borg El Arab Stadium. It is the largest stadium in Egypt and the second largest in Africa. Our next site is Abu Mena  which was a town, monastery complex and Christian pilgrimage centre in Late Antique Egypt. The next site is Wadi El Natrun which is best known today because its ancient monasteries remain in use, unlike Nitria and Kellia which have only archaeological remains. Our next site is the Pyramid of Djedefre which consists today mostly of ruins located at Abu Rawash in Egypt. It is Egypt's northernmost pyramid and is believed to have been built by Djedefre, son and successor to king Khufu. Finally, we arrive at the Giza pyramid complex, also called the Giza necropolis, which is the site on the Giza Plateau in Greater Cairo, Egypt that includes the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure.
