Briefing

Her late majesty Queen Elizabeth II was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from the 6th of February 1952 until her death (at the age of 96) on the 8th of September 2022.

In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II made history by becoming the first British monarch to reign for 70 years.

On Tuesday the 13th of September 2022, her coffin was flown by the Royal Air Force (RAF) aboard a C17 Globemaster, accompanied by her daughter - Princess Anne, from Edinburgh Airport to RAF Northolt in London before being driven to Buckingham Palace.
