Leg 2 of our 2019 company trip to the F1 Grand Prix in Monza took us from Oslo Gardermoen (ENGM) to Copenhagen (EKCH). As we boarded the plane, rumors were already circulating about an impending SAS baggage handler strike at Copenhagen Airport. Our travel guide, who stayed cool under pressure, advised us to go ahead with the flight—“Let’s get there and see what happens,” he said.

Upon arrival in Copenhagen, the situation quickly became clear: no SAS flights were leaving. What followed was a long, uncertain wait in the airport bar, where drinks helped ease the growing frustration. Hours passed with little news, and as the day slipped away, it became official—we’d miss Saturday’s F1 qualifying in Monza.

Eventually, we were offered hotel rooms and rebooked for flights the following day. It wasn’t the smoothest journey, but it definitely set the tone for the unpredictable adventure ahead.
