etong International Airport (IATA: BTZ, ICAO: VTSY)

is in Yarom subdistrict, Betong district, Yala province in southern Thailand. The airport is 12 km (7.5 mi) east of Betong, 85 km (53 mi) southeast from Yala city and 20 km (12 mi) via the Malaysian border. The airport covers an area of 1.47 million sq.m. (15,800,000 sq.ft.)

Passenger Terminal

The passenger terminal is a two-storey building with an area of ​​7,000 square meters and can accommodate 300 passengers per hour during rush hour or 800,000 passengers per year. The decoration of the passenger terminal uses the curves of the mountain as the main lines of the building, combined with a modern shape. The building is golden brown, bamboo patterns, marble with a pattern that reflects the sea of ​​fog, and uses bamboo to decorate both inside and outside the building, which is derived from the name of the district, which in Malay means bamboo. In the past, Betong was a city with a large amount of bamboo. It is considered the only airport in Thailand that uses bamboo as the main concept for decorating the airport. The bamboo used for the building's decorations was ordered from Nonthaburi Province.

The 94-meter wide and 180-meter long aircraft parking apron can accommodate three ATR-72 aircraft.

Runway and taxiway The 30-meter wide and 1,800-meter long runway can accommodate more than 4,000 80-seat aircraft (ATR-72/Q-400) per year. The taxiways consist of Taxiway A measuring 18x587 meters and Taxiway B measuring 18x115 meters.
