Achievement Leg 10: Week 10 vs New Orleans Saints (November 5, 1978

Background:

⦁ To end their 3 game homestand, the Steelers host the New Orleans Saints who are 5-4 on the season. In the first quarter, the Steelers score the first points as Roy Gerela kicks a field goal to make it 3-0.

⦁ In the second quarter, the Saints took the lead with a Rich Mauti 5 yard reception from Archie Manning to help them lead 7-3 by halftime. In the third quarter, the Steelers reclaimed the lead as Lynn Swann scored on a 6 yard reception from Terry Bradshaw to put them up 10-7. Later on, Roy Gerela kicked a 21 yard field goal to make it 13-7.

⦁ In the fourth quarter, the Saints scored on a Tony Galbreath run to retake the lead 14-13. At the end of the game, the Steelers score on a Rocky Bleier touchdown run to seal the game with a 20-14 win as Pittsburgh is now 9-1 on the season.
