Alpine Wyoming. The snake river canyon winds to the south and feeds the Snake River into the 20 mile long Palisades Reservoir near Alpine. While the town itself is small (population 1220), the surrounding area is very big on views and famous landmarks. A mere 36 miles to the northeast lies Jackson Hole, then moving north is Grand Teton National Park, then the celebrated gem that is Yellowstone National Park. Flying into Alpine lives up to its name as mountains surround the reservoir and give a very Switzerland-esque vibe.
For this flight, you will depart from Ogden-Hinkley (KOGD) just north of Salt Lake City, Utah. Be sure to mind the surrounding elevations on departure! You will spot Bear Lake to your east before passing over Paris Peak and the town of the same name. A long runway awaits you at Alpine (46U) and affords some margin of error if you gaze too long at the surroundings on descent, but mind the 200 FPM maximum!
